Creating and deleting servers

Our servers act like projects, which group your tests together. This page explains how to create and manage servers using the Mailosaur Dashboard and the API.

What is a server?

Servers allow you to group tests, permissions, and other settings together. You could use a server for a particular project, product, environment, or another purpose.

How do I create a new server?

To create a server, you must be an Administrator or Account Owner on the account in question. This access can be granted by another Administrator on your account if you do not already have this.

You can create a new server using the Mailosaur Dashboard, or the API.

  1. Go to the Servers page in the Mailosaur Dashboard.
  2. Click Create Server.
  3. In the page that appears, enter a server name.
  4. When you are finished, click Create.
const client = new MailosaurClient('you-api-key')

client.servers.create({
  name: 'My new server'
})

What are the server limits?

You can only create as many servers as your plan supports.

For information on how many servers you account supports you can refer to the Usage page in the Mailosaur Dashboard, or visit our pricing page.

How do I delete a server?

You can delete servers using the Mailosaur Dashboard or the API.

A deleted server is a permanently lost, and immediately unavailable for use. Be sure that the server is not used anywhere in your team before performing this operation.

  1. Go to the Servers page in the Mailosaur Dashboard.
  2. Click on the name of the server you want to delete.
  3. Click on the Settings tab.
  4. In the page that appears, click on Delete server at the bottom of the page.
  5. Once you confirm you want to continue, your server is deleted.
const client = new MailosaurClient('you-api-key')

client.servers.del('your-server-id')
