Inbox settings

Each inbox has configurable settings that control its name, message retention, and performance behavior.

Prerequisites

  • You must have administrator privileges to manage an inbox.

Access inbox settings

  1. Navigate to the inbox you want to configure.
  2. Click the Settings tab.

Available settings

Inbox name

Change the display name of your inbox. This does not affect the inbox domain name or its unique ID.

Message retention

Set the number of days that messages are kept before being automatically deleted. After the retention period expires, messages are permanently removed.

The maximum retention period that you set is determined by the plan that you are currently on. Speak to our sales team to learn more.

Performance mode

If you have a requirement to send very large volumes of email to an inbox, then enabling performance mode maximizes the throughput available, and reduces the risk of timeouts or throttling.

When performance mode is enabled, message content is not processed and is not made available via the Dashboard or API. Instead, emails are immediately deleted upon receipt.

Delete inbox

You can delete the inbox from the settings page. See Delete an inbox for details.
