How projects work
Use a project wherever you need a boundary inside your account. Most accounts run one per team, product or business unit, so that each group works with its own inboxes and designs and cannot see anyone else's.
Everything you create in Mailosaur belongs to a project. When you create an inbox, a design or an authenticator device, Mailosaur adds it to whichever one you are working in at the time.
Access works the same way. Being a user on your account is not enough: you are added to each project separately, and until someone adds you, you cannot see it or anything inside it. See Manage project access.
What a project contains
Each one groups the following together:
- Inboxes — the inboxes capturing email and SMS
- Designs — the email designs you build and preview in the Designer
- Authenticators — the TOTP devices used to test multi-factor authentication
Users, teams, API keys and usage limits belong to your account instead, so they apply everywhere.
Switch between projects
The project switcher sits at the top of the left-hand navigation and shows where you are working.
- Click the name of the current project to open the switcher.
- Start typing to filter the list, then select the one you want.
The shared project
Every account has one marked Shared. It is where you start, and you can rename it but never delete it, so your account always keeps at least one.
